Dung beetle
Adult dung beetle (Geotrupes egeriei) commonly called Eger's Earth Boring Beetle. Dung beetles feed partly or exclusively on feces. Many dung beetles roll dung into balls while others bury dung where they find it.
This beetle has mites on it's body which catch a ride to the next meal. This is a phenomenon known as Phoresy.
The Backyard series is a personal project started by Miami based photographer Aaron Ansarov which explores the beauty in color and design of animals found in backyards around the world.
