"I love this job. It's the best in the world," said Private Jason Matterson, from Syracuse, NY, about his experience in the Army so far. While attached to the 127th Platoon, he participates in a blank fire exercise with his Thai counterparts during Exercise Cobra Gold 2002.
The purpose of Cobra Gold is to improve U.S., Thai and Singaporean combat readiness and combined interoperability, enhance security relationships, and demonstrate U.S. resolve to support the security and humanitarian interests of friends and allies in the region.
